Habréis visto últimamente que están apareciendo ciertos posts y twitts acusando de que OKFN Spain está ‘en contra del software libre’ por resumirlo de alguna manera.

Os paso los datos para que juzguéis por vosotros mismos

Hecho 1: 6-9-13. Dos miembros de la OKFN Spain (Guzman Garmendia y Antonio Ibañez) han creado una publicación «Gobierno Abierto: Gasto, inversión y retorno» sobre gobierno abierto. http://gigapp.org/administrator/components/com_jresearch/files/publications/A10-GARMENDIA_IBANEZ-2013.pdf

Hecho 2. En esa publicación se afirma que el software libre ‘no es adecuado para sistemas críticos’ (pag 21)

Hecho 3: Estos dos miembros hacen explícita su condición de miembros de OKFN Spain en ese paper (así como la de sus empleadores, Oracle y Junta Castilla León)

Hecho 4: Se produce un sano y respetuoso debate en nuestra lista

Hecho 5: Se anuncia en un post de barrapunto ese debate 10-9 y se responde adecuadamente (ver 3er comentario el 10-9) http://softlibre.barrapunto.com/softlibre/13/09/09/2326203.shtml

Hecho 6: OKFN Spain 10-9 avisa que ese documento está en evaluación https://es.okfn.org/2013/09/10/gobierno-abierto-gasto-inversion-y-retorno-en-evaluacion/

Hecho 7: Estos dos miembros someten a su evaluación por la OKFN la donación de dicho paper a la OKFN Spain.

Hecho 8: En la Junta del 12-9, tanto en su acta como en la retransmisión grabada de la Junta, que son ambas públicas, se desmiente la adscripción de ese documento a OKFN Spain, y se anuncia la apertura de cuatro debates para investigar sobre las lineas de ese documento.

Esto me hace pensar que somos relevantes por cuanto nos atacan, pero esto es ya una reflexión y no un hecho

You may have seen lately that are popping certain posts and tweets charging that OKFN Spain is ‘against the free software’ in brief in some way.

These are the data to allow you judge for yourselves

Fact 1: 6-9-13 two members of the OKFN Spain (Guzman Garmendia and Antonio Ibanez) have created a publication «Open Government: Expenditures, investment and return» on open government.

Fact 2. The publication says that free software ‘is not suitable for critical systems’ (page 21)

Fact 3: These two members make explicit their membership of OKFN Spain in this paper (as well as their employers, Oracle and Junta Castilla León)

Fact 4: There is a healthy and respectful discussion on our list

Fact 5: It was announced in a post on Barrapunto that debate is 10-9 and responds appropriately (see 3rd comment 10-9) http://softlibre.barrapunto.com/softlibre/13/09/09/2326203.shtml

Fact 6: 10-9 OKFN Spain warns that the document is under evaluation https://es.okfn.org/2013/09/10/gobierno-abierto-gasto-inversion-y-retorno-en-evaluacion/

Fact 7: These two members offer document for evaluation by the OKFN as a donation.

Fact 8: 12-9 OKFN Spain’s board, in its minutes and in the board meeting recorded session, which are both public, it denies the assignment of this document to OKFN Spain, and announced the opening of four debates to investigate the lines of that document.

This makes me think that we are relevant in that they attack us, but this is only a personal reflection and not a fact
